A little about me.....

"After moving to Elora, Ontario, I could never have imagined my life changing in such a creative way.  Prior to moving to Elora I pursued art through many avenues: murals, lifecasting, a children's art studio, and private commissions.

These days I enjoy expressing my creative side working for Schlegel Villages retirement home.  I am currently the Recreation Aid for the Memory Care Neighbourhood, where I am also offering painting classes for the creative arts program. "

After graduating from the University of Guelph with my Bachelor of Fine Arts, I attended Sheridan College.  There I received my Interior Design Diploma, and then decided to move back to England to pursue job opportunities, and travel.  It didn't take long to find a great job heading up the Northern England Division for Renaissance Kitchens. I had the opportunity to design custom fitted kitchens, and bedrooms. When I managed to have some free time I enjoyed travelling. Living in Conisbrough, Doncaster with family allowed me to truly enjoy this experience, and opened the doors to travel to Egypt, Paris, Amsterdam, Edinburgh and London.

After almost two years I decided to move back, and focus on my family, and art, in Cambridge, Ontario.

It was time to open my own art studio!

Mini Monets Art Studio offered classes for children 15 months to 14 years.  I developed a Sensory Art Program for children with, and without special needs. Sensory centres, and art projects were developed to stimulate the senses while enjoying a creative experience.  Art History and Fine Art Techniques were the focus at Mini Monets. Classes were offered in Watercolour, Acrylic painting, Pastels, and Drawing.  Children were encouraged to think outside the box!

This was also a great opportunity to enjoy my many passions. I was commissioned to create custom Wall Murals for commercial, and residential clients, Lifecasts, and Pregnancy Belly Casts.

In 2014,  I closed the studio and made the move to Elora, Ontario!

I started to work at the Elora Home Hardware as the Buyer, Merchandiser and then Store Manager.  It was soon after I decided to also open my own business, Art 120. This new platform allowed me to provided art activities for small and large groups of people.  Private events in your home, team building, and fundraisers were just a few ways we expressed everyones creative side.

Today I am married to my best friend, Andrew, we enjoy 2 incredible children, Evan and Alissa. Holding on to the loving memories or our dear son Ryan, he will be forever in our hearts.

Working for Schlegel Villages has given me the opportunity to connect and engage with so many incredible residents.

I am blessed everyday to be able to create and pursue our resident's creative passions.

It has been quite a ride! I feel blessed to be surrounded by truly incredible people, and look forward to life in Elora, and the future of Art 120.  Being able to create happiness in others through art, is truly an amazing experience!
